PlantResearch is strong in cultivation substrate development, particularly organic substrates. In our experimental greenhouse we conduct fertiliser and efficacy trials which help to compose the ideal substrate according to the clients’ needs. Although we do not develop rock wool or other inert substrates ourselves, our experimental greenhouse is fully equipped to facilitate cultivation systems for efficacy trials on these products.
PlantResearch was one of the early research facilities of coco-based substrates.
Peat is a widely used substrate but harvesting it comes with a huge environmental cost. Partially replacing peat with coco mitigates this cost and results in a high quality substrate. This substrate is free from any animal derived material and is distributed to countries with the most restrictive phytosanitary regulations in the world.
